Depot Springs Beer Company is planning an outdoor music venue and brewery / restaurant in Fletcher Hills, on Dallas St and Fletcher Parkway. According to its promotional literature, the La Mesa Planning Commission appears to have approved live (outdoor) music until midnight, daily. Their promotional literature portrays this plan as being family-friendly.

Now that so much of the rental industry has moved online, it’s easier than ever for scammers to take advantage of unsuspecting renters.

Assembly Member Jones, R-Santee, honored Terry Burke-Eiserling as the 2016 Woman of the Year for the 71st Assembly District during a special ceremony at the Lakeside Skate Park on March 25.

On March 20, Bill Walton accepted a $50,000 check from Sycuan Casino on behalf of the Challenged Athletes Foundation. The donation provided by Sycuan is part of the casino’s promise to the organization to donate at least 5 percent of its GameDay Sports Bar & Grill’s annual sales, which began in 2012.

Being overcome with a fit of nostalgia I decided to take a drive through my old neighborhood. I was born in La Mesa at the newly opened Grossmont Hospital in1961. We lived off Avocado on Nabal St., named after a rare variety of avocado, at the foothills of Mt. Helix. When not in school, the neighborhood was always a busy hive of little baby-boomers either riding their bikes, playing flag football in the street or pretending to be intrepid explorers in search of some yet undiscovered treasure.

Residents at Mount Miguel Covenant Village are enjoying the fruits – and the vegetables and beauty – of their gardening labor. This month marks the continuing care retirement community’s one-year garden anniversary and residents and staff celebrated with an intimate garden party to toast the success of a resident-driven project that began a year ago. “A home is not a home until it has a garden,” said Garden Club President and Mount Miguel resident Linda Smith.

The Council of Community Clinics (CCC), a premier consortium of primary care organizations in Southern California, today announced its new name and branding, Health Center Partners, the new name for its subsidiary formerly known as Community Clinic Health Network, Health Quality Partners, and the launch of Integrated Health Partners. Integrated Health Partners is a fully integrated primary health network designed to advance standards of care, improve outcomes and reduce costs for member community health centers.
