I have been asked by several people since yesterday’s press conference if I intended to suggest by one of my responses that it is my opinion, after having watched the video, that the officer’s use of his firearm was not justified.  This was absolutely not my intent.

In answering a question from a reporter regarding how I would feel if the individual in the video was my son, I attempted to convey in my answer, as a father of three young adults myself, the very human anguish I would feel if that were the case.

Now in its fifth season, Art In The Park camp by Art Smarts, Inc. at Mt. Helix Park begins Monday, Oct. 10 and running through Friday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. until noon each day. Measure V on our Nov. 8 ballot would bring 15 marijuana storefronts to Lemon Grove, serving about 4,000 pot smokers apiece, yielding a mob scene of some 60,000 addicts (more than twice the size of Lemon Grove’s population).

Five local educators were named San Diego County Teachers of the Year on Saturday night during the 26th annual “Cox Presents: A Salute to Teachers,” sponsored by San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU) in partnership with the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE).
