On Nov. 2nd, Councilman Bill Well’s home in El Cajon was the target of a shooting by an unknown shooter. A shot was fired through an upstairs window that penetrated the screen and shattered the glass door of the bathroom shower. Wells and his family were absent from the home at the time of the shooting.

HauntFest, the first grand Halloween event held in downtown El Cajon last Friday evening marked the beginning of a new image for the city. 

Jeff Davis, executive director of the Promenade District and one of the sponsors of the event said that this was one of many more signature events planned for the city to spotlight El Cajon as a beautiful and safe place to come shop, dine, and entertain.

A Hawaiian Luau as a celebration of life in charitable works was the theme chosen for a fundraiser held at the Catamaran on Mission Bay Sept 28, by the East County Posse (ECP), a charitable organization. The organization was founded in 2006 by Greg Brown, president of New West Investment Group in San Diego and a resident of El Cajon.

Wear a chicken hat to the El Cajon Oktoberfest Sunday and you will be eligible to participate in the chicken hat contest. You may just win ….. a flat of chicken eggs!

You’ll have to be the “Funniest Fowl,” the “Best Popular Poultry,” or, the most “Creative Cluck”. People of all ages may enter the contest. The mayor of El Cajon, Mark Lewis will be one of the judges. The judging will take place at 3:30 p.m..
